NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2017 – Two-time NBA All-Star and Raptors 905 head coach Jerry Stackhouse will coach the Eastern Conference team while NBA and NBA D-League veteran and Los Angeles D-Fenders head coach Coby Karl will lead the Western Conference team in the NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The 11th annual NBA D-League All-Star Game will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans as part of NBA All-Star 2017 festivities. The coaching staffs from Raptors 905 and the D-Fenders earned the honor by virtue of owning the best records in their respective conferences through Jan. 29.

Stackhouse, in his first season as a head coach, has led Raptors 905 to nine consecutive wins en route to an Eastern-Conference leading 21-7 (.750) mark. Karl, also a first-year head coach, has guided the D-Fenders to an NBA D-League-best 22-6 (.786) record, including nine victories in their last 10 games.

NBA D-League All-Star activities begin in between NBA Eastern and Western Conference All-Star practices, when six high-flying dunkers participate in the preliminary round of NBA D-League Slam Dunk presented by Verizon. Action continues following the All-Star practices with the preliminary round of the NBA D-League Three-Point Contest. The 2017 NBA D-League All-Star Game tips off at 2:30 p.m. ET. The final rounds of the Slam Dunk and Three-Point competitions will take place during halftime of the game.

The NBA D-League All-Star Game, and the finals of both skills competitions, will air live on NBA TV beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. The preliminary rounds of NBA D-League Slam Dunk and the Three-Point Contest will be streamed live on Facebook Live via the NBA D-League’s Facebook page beginning at 12:45 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET, respectively.

Seven 2016 NBA D-League All-Stars went on to earn GATORADE Call-Ups to the NBA last season, while 2016 All-Star Jarnell Stokes was later named the NBA D-League’s MVP for the 2015-16 season. Two 2016 NBA D-League All-Stars are currently playing in the NBA: Sean Kilpatrick (Brooklyn) and Jordan McRae (Cleveland).

NBA D-League All-Stars, three-point shooters and dunk contestants will be announced at a later date. NBA D-Leaguers who played in half of their teams’ games through Jan. 29 are eligible to be selected to play in the All-Star Game. For the first time, NBA D-League players will join head coaches in a vote to select the All-Stars.
