Raptors 905 (27-9) defeated the Delaware 87ers (20-17) 110-96 Saturday night, extending the team’s winning streak to five games. CJ Leslie erupted for 30 points off the bench, while John Jordan collected his first double-double of the season, recording 10 points and 10 assists in his first start of the year. Russ Smith scored 23 points to lead Delaware, while Shawn Long grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to compliment his 18 points for the 87ers.
Both teams struggled to start the game, shooting identical .391 field goal percentages in the opening quarter. Delaware emerged with a slight three point advantage, benefitting from a quarter-high seven points from Aaron Harrison.
The 905 would receive balance contributions from its starters in the second quarter, combining for 23 of the teams 33 points in the frame. Antwaine Wiggins and Brady Heslip led the 905 in with six points each. Delaware would continue to struggle from the floor in the quarter, but did receive eight point frames from Russ Smith and Devondrick Walker, as they head into halftime trailing the visitors 55-50.
Smith would continue his hot play in the second half, scoring seven points in the third to propel the 87ers to a 32-point frame. Leslie responded scoring seven points as the 905 head into the final 12 minutes of play trailing by one.
In the fourth, Leslie would dominate, shooting 60 per cent from the floor, scoring 15 points and hauling in five rebounds to lead the 905 to its 13th road victory of the season.
