905 Open 2017 Playoffs With Thrilling Victory

Raptors 905 won its first playoff game in franchise history, defeating the Canton Charge 112-107, in a tightly contested affair to open its first round of the 2017 NBA D-League Playoffs.  Axel Toupane scored a franchise-high 41 points for the 905 while Kay Felder scored 31 points and added 12 assists in the Charge defeat. 

Toupane was the catalyst for the 905 in the opening half, recording 20 points and four rebounds by the break.  Felder struggled in the opening quarter but quickly settled in, scoring 12 of his 15 first half points in the second frame.  Headed into the final 24 minutes of play, Raptors 905 held a 61-45 advantage. 

 Canton battled back in the third quarter to cut the deficit in half, 85-77 headed into the final frame.  The trio of Felder, John Holland and Eric Moreland all contributed seven points in the quarter for the Charge.  Toupane continued his strong play, leading all scorers with nine points. 

 The second half surge would continue into the fourth for Canton, who battled back to tie the game 97-97 with 3:21 left to play.  The 905 would regain control to close the game, Toupane scoring 10 points from the 3:21 mark to seal the victory for Raptors 905.  The series now shifts back to Mississauga where the 905 will look to close out the series April 8 at 7:30 PM at Hershey Centre.  If necessary, Game Three will be played April 11 at Hershey Centre.
