By Raptors 905 | March 31, 2017

Raptors 905 (39-11) concluded its regular season with an NBA D-League record 21st road victory, defeating the Delaware 87ers (26-23) 123-103 Saturday night.  The 905 concludes its regular season with a 39-11 record, the second-best record in NBA D-League history.  Edy Tavares (21 points, 10 rebounds), John Jordan (13 points, 10 assists) and Christian Watford (15 points, 10 assists) all recorded double-doubles on the evening, while Axel Toupane led the 905 with 22 points. Nate Robinson paced Delaware, scoring 28 points in the loss.

The two teams opened the game shooting an identical 66.7 per cent from the floor, leading to a high-scoring first quarter.  Toupane started the game strong, scoring nine points for the 905, propelling the team to a 36-30 advantage after one frame.

Delaware would take a brief lead at the 9:45 mark of the second quarter, but a pair of free-throws from Antwaine Wiggins served as the beginning of a 9-0 run for Raptors 905, leaving the 87ers unable to recover.  The 905 received balanced contributions in the final 24 minutes of play, with no player recording double-digit point totals, while still outscoring Delaware 56-51 in the half to earn the victory.

The 905 will now prepare for its first playoff series, entering as the top seed in the league, holding home court advantage throughout the playoffs.  While its opponent is yet to be determined, the 905 will host game two and, if necessary, game three of the first-round April 8 and 11 at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are available online at www.raptors905.com/tickets.
